BEGIN AGAIN GOODS was born out of the alchemical laboratory of sculptor/mama/professor, Lauren Frances Evans. A benign, but nagging, curiosity about the process of *copper electroforming* led Lauren into an elbows-deep endeavor to learn the technique. As a college sculpture professor by day, Lauren naturally brought her students along for the ride, spending several weeks experimenting with the sculptural possibilities of electroforming in her class. MANY mistakes and discoveries ensued, but along to way, as a means to better learn the quirks and qualms of the process, Lauren has since amassed an abundance of wearable electroformed goodies! This exploration has proved fruitful and worthwhile in more ways than one.
THERE'S ALWAYS MORE
Just as the symbolic ouroboros devours and yet continuously gives birth unto itself, the items presented here, from handmade wearables to scavenged/repurposed wares, too are participating in this same type of ongoingness. There is an inherent alchemy to this work. As we participate in the transmutation of material/matter, the spirit, too, undergoes a similar transmutation, deep within.

... and again
... and again
... and again
Also in the mix here is Lauren's partner in crime (& procreation), Stephen W. Evans, who works as an art museum preparator by day, but always and forever a painter at heart. His hand-carved, hand-printed tees are just a glimpse into the deep well of spook/spunk that is Stephen W. Evans. Steve & Lauren met as pensive art-making undergrads (in different places, but that's a story for another time). They currently reside in Birmingham, Alabama and are parents to the biggest goobers of them all, Agnes Prairie and Edie Moon.
